I don't celebrate Valentine's Day but my heart has been yearning for one of my truest loves... Adventure! 💓
I have just recently finished my Ireland and Scotland scrapbook and it has got me excited for my next excursion.
Above is me by the Skellig Islands- taken by my sister, Anna. 😀
I thought I would share some of my ideas to keep wanderlusting at bay and satisfy adventure cravings until your next trip.
- Taking a look at your old travel albums or journals. I create a scrapbook after every trip and journal during my travels and they are super fun to look back on!
- Visit an exotic restaurant or try a recipe from around the world. I made some Thai peanut sauce for Buddha Bowls that were to die for! Try it here.
- Plan your next trip! Whether that be to your neighboring town or day dreaming about a faraway place. I am currently planning for mine and my husband's trip to China in spring!
- Try something...(anything).. new. You can get a similar rush of pleasure hormones from learning a new skill or challenging yourself to try a new experience. I loved the rush from running my first 5K or from learning a new phrase in Spanish!
- Watch a travel film or documentary. One of my favorite parts of traveling is learning about the culture and history of a new place. I recommend Living on One Dollar or something by Anthony Bourdain.
- Lastly.. Just book it! If you have been looking a trip for a while and hemming an hawing over what to do.. just book it and then you'll have to make it work. It may take a garage sale and cutting back but it's worth it!
Do you have any tips for keeping your travel bug happy while you wait?
That was a fun trip and the view from that cliff...beautiful! Tips till the next trip...look up off the main path, stops...I loved all the little weird attractions Jackie, Lisa and I stopped at and took pictures of on our way to and from TX. I also enjoyed going to the Haberdashery in Scotland!
